Tarnation is the weekly challenge at Kongregate!

So exciting to see Tarnation with achievements!

When designing Tarnation I had a goal for the scoring system: you play the game in about 15 minutes but your score can range greatly.

I feel like too many Flash game high-scores are purely reliant on how LONG you play the game, not neccesarily how well. While the scoring system in Tarnation turned out too complex and not communicated well (sorry everyone) it accomplished this goal.

From my scoring calculation I knew getting over 100,000 points was possible. Howver, I am not good enough at my own game to do this. Up until now, from looking at Kongregate and MochiLeaderboards, only about 11 people had been able to complete the game with a score over 100k. Now lots people have gotten over 100k.

Apparently having badge on your game makes people much more critical of it.

How is Skill percentage calculated?

Basically you are scored every tick. You have an efficiency score that gauges how well you are using your flowers (i.e. wasting as few as possible)

The skill level is your avarage throughout the level. Less flower waste=better skill.

I am trying to actually calculate an efficient game because there is huge speculation that the people who have the Badge right now cheated and I'd agree -- I recently released a Hard Badge guide, but getting 100,000 seems very difficult without a lot of intense micromanagement. Is it possible to reveal the skill percentage calculation in itself as well as relative speeds/HP of the bugs and how much life a given flower depletes? The full level bonuses (that is, allowing the last bug to enter the water) when added up amount to a bit over 85k, leaving 15k to be used among close calls and leftover flowers and skill (which I am not sure how it contributes to score just yet).

Anyways, the more numbers I can slap to this, the better. I'd really appreciate any information on the matter! This game is very interesting to people like me obsessed with math and statistics, lol.

Sorry, one more question:

It is very possible to get over 100% skill percentage -- how is this possible and what does it really mean?
