Tarnation - alpha

The game I have been working on has a nice big update.

Tarnation

Any comments on the game are welcome. I am trying to make as much time as I can to work on it and get it done.

Cool game Brad but I must admit that I'm one of those guys that doesn't read when playing a game. It took me a while to figure out you were required to do different mouse gestures to attack different colors. It might be a good idea to have nice big colored arrows during the tutorial as well as the animation. Here are some other suggestions:

1. Instead of the "Arrow = Color" legend at the top of the screen change it to 3 fat colored arrows so you can just glance up and see which direction you need to gesture. It will save screen space as well. Right now it is hard to see which way the thin arrow is pointing.

2. Change the size of the bugs to match their function. Blue bugs smaller/thinner, red bugs the same, yellow bugs big fat tankers.

3. I'd like to see some power up seeds like every once and a while have a special seed that will deal a death blow with one shot.

4. Maybe the shape of the gesture could have different effects. If you select seeds in the back row (new seeds) they are more powerful. Or if you select seeds with a square shape they are slow but powerful. If you select seeds in a horizontal line, they shoot out quick like an arrow. Select a vertical line and they last longer.

Just some ideas...

Chris,
That's really helpful feedback. Thanks for taking the time to play.

Good point about the arrow colors. I will definitely implement that. Different bug sizes would make for better communication. I was just trying to recycle artwork :)

The different directions making different actions is really cool but too much of a change if I want to get this done by the end of the year. Maybe Tarnation 2?
