Monster vs. Kids vs. Giant Ball
So while writing some simple "drag & throw" code for my class I decided I wanted to make a reason to use this reflection idea I have been thinking about. Naturally I combined the drag & throw with seek/flee behaviors.
Monster vs. Kids vs. Giant Ball
Click, drag, and throw the ball into the monster. Don't hit the kids. Postive points for hitting the monster and negative points for hitting the kids.
Notice how the ball distorts the background. Not perfect but its a first step to doing what I want.

Interesting, you can cheat and just hold the ball over the monster and let go rather than aiming and throwing.
The distortion effect is pretty nice, what kind of crazy action script magic makes that happen?
Yeah, the collision doesn't run when you drag the ball.
The distortion is a displacement map using the BitmapData class in Flash 8.
